Strawberry Fields Forever by Myke Rock

MYKE ROCK is a solo electric bass and vocal artist, performing rock and many mutations in a full-flavor tapestry of expert chording, arrangements and strong, soulful vocals. His songs cover a range of topics from the usual love, heart-ache, loneliness and frustration, but also brings topics never before explored and exalted in rock, or other genres for that matter. He writes songs about his foot fetish (A German Who Wiggled Her Toes, Footwork In Progress, Freedom At Your Feet), a gun-toting, fiery female (Fools Fall Fast), being trapped in a soul-searching prison of love (The United States of Erica) and walking a mile "between your legs...and mine" (Hunk-A-Butter) to name a few. Quickly you'll get over the fact that "it's a bass player up there". You tend to simply listen to the songs, the passion, the ingenuity and the craftsmanship, and melt into the world of one of the most authentically unique and talented artists to date.

Ugly by Keren Lee

    Minimize
KEREN LEE, a bass playing resident of California, Pennsylvania, United States, created the tune "Ugly" from what he considers to be ugly sounding chords: Db+, D7, Eb+, E7, which are then played in successively split octaves with some strumming and tapping in between. "I wanted to take a theme, in this case the series of ugly chords, and break it up into something progressively more interesting" says Keren. He further states that whenever he's working on a solo composition, he likes to think of what's out there, then try make sure none of it can be heard in his own work. "It's good to be influenced by other players but very difficult to keep those influences from showing up in your own work, so I strive to create compositions of sounds I haven't heard. And for good fun, I like to create parts for myself which I cannot play properly without a lot of practice."
Keren Lee can be seen weekly at Jozart Studios in California, PA playing solo and/or with his band, The Huston Lee Project, or providing the low end to theatre productions in New York City and in Pittsburgh, PA.

"Thanks for listening!"
-Keren Lee
